The Resiliency Center of Newtown offers a variety of support groups and training programs for community members as well as local clinicians.
Support Groups
Currently, we are offering a knitting and crochet group on Fridays this fall. This group is intended for any community members who enjoy knitting, or want to learn, and are comfortable in a small group setting. There will be the freedom to share experiences, or simply enjoy the company of others. No registration is required, and all experience levels and ages are welcome. The group will be run by our Art Therapist, Lisa and our Music Therapist Jen.
Training Programs
We offer Adult Mental Health First Aid Training (AMHFA) and Youth Mental Health First Aid Training (YMHFA) at RCN. These training programs are designed to help the lay person provide initial help to people experiencing mental health problems such as depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis and substance use disorders.

We offered Brainspotting Level 1 training this past winter and will soon announce when we will offer Level 2. This program is intended for clinicians and is taught by David Grand, Ph.D developer of Brainspotting.
